Brian Fallon Delivers a Heartfelt Performance
Photos and words by Steve Rose
Closing out the second of a two-night sold out run at the famed Troubadour in West Hollywood, Brian Fallon’s performance was emotional, insightful, and honest. Throughout the night he played fan favorites like National Anthem, Smoke, and American Slang, and in between those fantastic songs, he allowed the audience a glimpse into his mindset, and at times, his emotional state as he was writing a particular song. He touched on topics like divorce, becoming a first time parent, the death of a friend, and how he met his current wife. It was a very special night that included a cover of Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright and some candid storytelling as he wove one song into the next story and to the next song. There are only a few more stops on this Songs from the Hymnal tour with Craig Finn, so don’t miss out on a night of great music and storytelling.
